Work in Progress

Well finally this terrible year is almost over. I guess I should be thankful for what good has come to me. Case in point my new Wacom Tablet. I gift that me and Santa split the difference on.

So above is what I am working on now. A kind of mix between photo and computer illustration, there will probably be some design elements in there. I am kind of just playing around to see what I can do.

Third act of business is this new artist I stumbled upon. I'm going to add his blog on here, but his website is:

All Talk

So it appears that in my busy last two months I have not updated my blog much. If you noticed the banner (which I swore to myself I'd keep up with) still says October.

But don't think I've been slacking in art. I've been building my portfolio, and working on a ton of stuff. My figure Drawing final for instance was a 10 piece series inspired by Ashley Wood. I really need to retake the photos of that.

So I am going to try really hard to get some stuff posted on my down time, and also keep myself doing art. Doing Doing Doing I cannot stop...I will not!

IF anyone has some kind of hunger to see my work, maybe this will sate your appetite.

Pomegranate

"Pomegranate & Rib Cage"
11x14
Acrylic and Colored Pencil on Bristol.

Let me know what you think of this one. Im still deciding whether or not I accomplished what I wanted. I had to do this in a Triadic color scheme for Color theory. The blue outlines were a pain because I had one of those crayon like things that come with prisma colored pencils to do it with.

Spare Paint

"Over Ripe"
Unknown Size
Acrylic and image transfer on Bristol

I gave this to my manager. Just something I whipped up after completing my color wheel. Paint is too expensive to waste.

Digits

"Hands/Untitled for now"
~17"x24"
Pencil

This is my (mostly) finished piece on hands for Figure Drawing. I had some more finishing touches I wanted to do, but it was like 3 a.m. and I was at the point of it being acceptable. Currently it's hanging up at my college so I won't be able to work on it for a while (and may not be interested by then). I think in my tiredness last night I realized I might want to be an illustration minor.

I'll post some figure drawings later.

Tell me what you think. Comments appreciated!

Selections from my 50 Hands

Drawing hands for a while can be quite tiring. The good thing is It is not as scary of a thought, I actually kind of enjoy it now.

Thumbnails yield larger versions.

50 Hands by Thursday

It's a beautiful day out and I am off work. I don't even mind my assignment to draw 50 hands by tomorrow. They are just gestural so its no big deal. I'll post some pics of the better ones.

Superimposed Skull

"Superimposed Skull Self Portrait"
19"x24"
Drawing Pencil and Ebony Pencil
2008

This is my second assignment in Figure drawing and the third revision of it. He really made us work hard on this one. Though it has some problems, I am quite satisfied with it. This is the final version. With all the reworking I'm pretty sure its at least 15 hours of work.

Let me know what you think.
